Executive Board

President Rupi Jain

Rupi Jain is a Senior from Morganville, NJ. She is double majoring in Philosophy and Global Studies with a thematic concentration in Global Economics, Trade, and Development and an area concentration in Russia and Eastern Europe. She is minoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.  She previously served as our Field Director and Treasurer, as the Campaign Committee Chair for College Democrats of NC and as the Disability Caucus Chair for College Democrats of America.

She has interned with the campaign for Governor Phil Murphy, as well as other local and county-to-county campaigns. In 2018, she interned at Credit Suisse in NYC and in summer 2019, she attended the London School of Economics and Political Science.

She is an Ambassador for the UNC Order of the Bell Tower on campus and a certified Peer Mentor with the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

Vice President Thomas Ellis

Thomas Ellis is a Senior from Wilson, NC. He is double-majoring in Political Science and History with a minor in Southern Studies. He previously served as our Secretary and Director for Policy Research and Programming.

In 2019, Thomas worked as a summer intern for the Wilson County Board of Elections. He has been a contributor to the Carolina Political Review since 2018, serving as an Editorial Board Member and an Opinion Editor.

Secretary Megan Wagner

Megan Wagner is a Junior from Pinehurst, NC. She is an Economics major with minors in Public Policy and Advertising/Public Relations. She previously served as our Communications Director.

Megan served as a Social Justice Advocate for the Ehringhaus Community Government from 2019-2020. Megan is a member of the Voter Registration Committee of March For Our Lives, is a Buckley Public Service Scholar, and is a resident advisor for the Ehringhaus Community. She is currently serving as a UNC precinct co-chair with the Orange County Democratic Party.

Treasurer Jack Morningstar

Jack Morningstar is a Junior from Caribou, Maine. He is double-majoring in Political Science and Marketing through the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Jack previously served as our Finance Director.

From 2014-2016, Jack worked as an Organizing Intern for the Democratic Party of Oregon. In 2016, he interned for Senator Angus King in Washington, DC. In 2017, he interned at METIS Solutions, a foreign policy think-tank. Jack has also served as the President of the Young Refugee Integration Initiative, an Event Organizer for March For Our Lives, and an Organizing Fellow for Pete for America. At UNC, Jack is a Kenan Scholar and a member of the TEDxUNC Speakers’ Committee.
